Natural Colors, Un-Dyed Corriedale Wool Roving

Corriedale wool is a favorite around the world for its softness and strength. It is great for needle felting, wet felting, and spinning. The Corriedale sheep is a cross between the Merino and Lincoln breeds. This special cross produces a thick, strong wool fiber that is also very soft.

  • Ecru (natural white): 29.5 micron fiber.
  • 8 ounces of wool.
  • All of the Corriedale colors have a staple length of 90 mm (3.5 inches).
  • Processed with environmentally safe methods.
  • Ethically sourced and cruelty free! We source our wool from farmers in Uruguay who adhere to strict animal welfare regulations, including being mulesing-free.

These beautiful wool rovings are sourced from local sheep farms in Uruguay, South America. After shearing, the raw fiber is sorted for color, then cleaned, carded, and combed at an environmentally conscious mill in Uruguay where they use wind turbines as their main power source. Their strong strong commitment to the environment and their work in improving animal welfare, breeding and management conditions of the Uruguayan flocks make this wool the best in the world. We work closely with this mill to produce the high quality wool for fiber artists.

    Excellent wool top

    Posted by S. H. on Jan 5th 2025

This wool top (not roving) is of excellent quality for spinning. To me, it feels finer than its micron count indicates, and the staple length is excellent. This is a very versatile wool that is beginner-friendly. The fibers are well-processed and have minimal snags. I have not tried artistic wet-felting with the unstructured wool, but have wet-felted a knitted item made with this wool and it felted neatly.
